The village of Seillans
Suspended from the fragrant hills, encircled by olive groves, the village of Seillans bears witness to a past closely linked to the Saracen invasions of the 10th century. A few stones still bear witness to its ancient fortifications. Over the centuries, the village has grown into a tiered structure, with staggered houses featuring ochre or grey stonework and pink tiles. A carved façade, an ancient doorway or a bas-relief tells the story of a sacred, popular or legendary place. Its square, shaded by century-old plane trees and whispered by the Amont fountain, exudes the gentleness of life. Its charm has inspired many artists, including Max Ernst, who lived here for many years, and more recently the photographer Doisneau. It's in this intimate, authentic setting, in a village classified as one of the most beautiful in France, that the Hôtel des Deux Rocs invites you to discover the gentle way of life in the Var hinterland.
